Hey - I'm going to list out my problem below so it's easier to read...
1) My old Spotify account was connected to my old Facebook account
2) I deleted my old Facebook account, which meant I had to get a new Spotify account
3) The Spotify team transferred all the content from my old Spotify account, to my new Spotify account
4) However, on my old Spotify account, I was part of a Collaborative Playlist. After that account was deleted, all of the songs I added to this Collaborative Playlist are now showing that they were "added by" the original playlist creator (which wasn't me), even though it was myself who added them.
5) How do I fix this, to show that the songs that were added by my old account, show that they were added by me, and not the content creator? There surely must be a way...
Hey @ev7nb01wvnkznl10jbz,
Thank you for reaching out to the Community.
We've seen that you made a different post just mentioning the wrong name under the playlist. This was already replied here. We'd recommend having all the info in just one thread so you don't miss any of the responses.
On the other hand, since it's a different account, the system recognizes your new account as a different profile because it has different metadata and username. Taking this into account, your new profile name won't be under the songs you previously added because it's a different profile.
In this case, you can ask the playlist's owner to delete the songs you previously added and invite you to be a collaborator again. This way you can re-add all the songs from your new account to have your name on it.
Hope this helps. If you have any additional questions, don't hesitate to ask.
Hi OscarDC,
Thanks for getting back to me.
The problem is, that this playlist has around 600 songs on it, so we aren't entirely sure who added which song. So what I'm asking for, is for the tech team to take a look and see if there's a way to highlight the songs that were added by my old account, and not the playlist creator.
I understand they might not be able to show it was added by my old username, but even if they could just highlight that someone else had added them?
Does that make sense?
Hi again @ev7nb01wvnkznl10jbz,
Could you perhaps tell us which playlist this is and send us a few screenshots of what exactly it is you see on your end? That would help us with the investigation 🙂
Feel free to also open the playlist on the Web Player to see if the tracks you previously added by your old account appear differently there.
We'll be keeping an eye out for your reply.
Hey Yordan,
Yes! I've just opened the web player and I can now see the ones that were added from my old account! Instead of showing the original playlist creators name next to the songs I added, it just has a blank box. But that's good as I can now tell.
This is the link to the playlist - https://open.spotify.com/playlist/1HJaJ6XC2KdrihCiMJiCeD?si=9cf95f65e0f7423c
Now, how do we get this to show on the iPhone app and Macbook app?
Kind regards, Joe
Hey @ev7nb01wvnkznl10jbz,
Thanks for your reply and for the info shared.
In this case, we'd recommend performing a clean reinstall of the app on your devices. We also suggest you log out and log in twice onto your Spotify account; this way the system will force a resync of your account.
Nevertheless, we're not sure if the above is going to do the trick, since this seems related to the fact that the playlist was shared with your old account. That being said, we'd recommend following the suggestion mentioned by @OscarDC, since you can see the songs you've added from the web player. We understand this could take some time, but we think at this point it'll be the easiest way.
We hope you found this helpful. Let us know if you need anything else.
Hi AlejaR,
Thanks for the update.
However, given that it shows it different on the WebPlayer, is there actually no way/fix to get it to show the on the Mac app or iPhone app?
Thanks in advance
Hey @ev7nb01wvnkznl10jbz,
Thanks for getting back to us!
We appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback with us and we'll make sure to pass it onto the right team, as we always strive to improve your experience.
Hopefully you'll see if it gets improved but we can't guarantee when or if this will be solved!
At the moment, as workaround we can suggest the following: try using the Web Player to browse the playlist in order to see which song you've added, then on the app go to this song, remove it and then add it again from your account.
Cheers!
