Apple definitely exploits their dominance to kill innovative companies. I was a Spotify premium user for a long time. Then I got an Apple Watch to run with, but needed to download music to listen offline. Not surprisingly, I discovered that Apple doesn't implement the technology Spotify needs to download/play music offline on the Watch. But of course Apple Music works offline on the Watch. So for now I've cancelled Spotify and moved to Apple Music until such time I can use Spotify offline on the watch.

Really unfortunate.

Good news!

Spotify now supports downloads and cellular streaming on Apple Watch. This will be rolling out over the next several weeks.
