How do I delete podcasts I've already heard

I'm in the US, listening on my car via iPhone, and on my desktop via a browser. I want to delete the podcasts I've already heard.  I found a similar thread from 2017 and it looks like it was possible at one time but that thread doesn't have an answer.  I only want to see podcasts in my library that I haven't heard.  I can't seem to find a way to do that.  It's extremely dangerous to  find a new show while driving.  I have to pull over and scroll through the list to find something new and not replay something I've heard.

Thanks for getting in touch about this and welcome to the Community. 

If you want to remove an entire podcast show from Your Library, you just need to head to it and tap on "Following". If what you want is to remove only some specific episodes, keep in mind that you can't do that from the podcast's page, but it's possible from "Your episodes" (by tapping on the 3 dots next to the episode and selecting "Remove from this playlist") or "New episodes" (by tapping on the 3 dots and selecting "Mark as finished"). 

In this case, what you can do is to add the episodes you'd like to listen to to Your episodes and if you start playing the first episode, the following episodes you have in that playlist will automatically start playing when the first one ends. This way you can avoid repeating episodes you already listened to while driving.
