Sometimes the title uses the Japanese characters, sometimes it uses "roman characters"/romaji.

I speak Japanese and I use it to identify my songs, so the inconsistency hinders my ability to select songs. I would like to change all songs to use the Japanese alphabets.

The last two songs on the list were in the Japanese character set when viewing the album, but when I added them they switched to romaji for seemingly no reason.

My client is in Japanese, my OS is in Japanese also. I think this is an issue on Spotify's end.

Hi there @ネット社会に,

Thanks for reaching out. How songs appear is not something decided by the Spotify app or any device settings and its also not something Spotify can influence. However the song metadata is provided to us by the owners of it (artists, labels, etc.), that is how it will appear in the app. If the songs are provided in Japanese, then that's how they will be listed. If they're provided in romanized/romaji form, then that will be used. The same applies to all languages that don't use standard Latin letters - Chinese, Korean, Arabic, Cyrillic languages, etc.

Hope this clears things up.

recently I realized some of the Japanese artists I listen to have their songs in romaji instead oh hiragana/kanji. the older songs that I've saved into my liked songs are still in Japanese, but if I go on their profile and find the same song, it's in romaji (and my Spotify is in Japanese). my friend's Spotify has the same songs in Japanese. it's just a little hard to find specific songs since I'm not really used to reading romaji, so I'm wondering if there's a way to change it back?

Why can’t I find a song when searching in Japanese and can only find it using romaji, while in someone else’s playlist, the song appears with its Japanese title?
