How to hide a song completely?

Is there a way to make Spotify never play a song again, at all, ever, on any playlist?
I know you can hide them from the specific playlist, but it just pops up again in another similar playlist.

I am asking for a way to never hear a given song again through this platform

Thanks for posting in the Community.

As you mentioned, you can hide the song to stop Spotify from recommending it, as long as the playlist wasn't created for you (e. g. playlists made by Spotify or the ones you follow and are public). That song will only become available to listen to again once you unhide it. You can read more about it in this article.

Currently, you can also block a specific artist as well, so the app won't recommend any of the songs of that artist again. To do it, from a mobile phone, you can go to an Artist profile> the three-dot menu > Don't play this.

Nevertheless, we understand what you're suggesting. Another user had a similar idea, so they posted on our Idea boards about it here. Even though the status is set as Case Closed, it doesn't mean the idea has been rejected. We’d suggest adding your vote in the thumbs up icon and subscribing to it to get notified as soon as we have any updates to share.

Can you give us more details about what you meant? That way we can better understand what you're referring to. If it's the block artists feature, keep in mins that is currently just available in the mobile phone app.
