Keeping it simple: Does incorrect content reporting work or not?

Solved!

Keeping it simple: Does incorrect content reporting work or not?

Every time I've tried using the broken or incorrect content reporting it never works. I've sent a handful of them since 2020, and I always get the same message "We've checked it out and see what you mean, so we've passed it on to the Content team for review. Hopefully they'll have this sorted for you soon. Please be aware this could take several weeks to be reflected in the app." It's been almost 2 years since I sent the first one about a spelling error. Do you really see what I mean? I'm just trying to fix spelling errors and incorrect album names. Does it really take that long to fix? I've posted about this before and people keep telling me the only way to fix something is by going through the same method, but it just looks completely useless if it doesn't do anything.

Hey @RammingMode

Thank you for reaching out with this question.

I may have an explanation why it'd take a while. Basically the ability to change metadata, which includes taking out typos, is at the hands of artists and their record labels /  distributors. Spotify can't do that themselves, and when you submit to the form you mentioned, they would reach out to the distributor or label on which the release was made available.

I haven't tried the form personally, but I have sent DM's to artists and labels when I found an issue like a typo with their music.
Some of them have been very thankful, others don't really care. 🙂

To answer how long it can take to fix a typo on streaming service - about a month. That is with the artist who got back to me and promised to fix this.

Hope this helps, have a lovely day!

That was a lot clearer of an answer than what I've previously got. Guess they'll just stay messed up then.
