Missing Song

Recently went to my favorite playlist and found a song missing from the list. Thinking maybe I accidentally erased it I went to search for it and now I cant find the song anywhere. It's like it has completely disappeared or never was on spotify. Does spotify always do this? I'm confused

This happens sometimes to me too when the song is no longer available in your country. If you are on Premium, you can go to your settings in the app (on your phone or web player) and select the Playback option. There will be a toggle next to the option that says "Hide Unplayable Songs". Turn it off and search for the song again.
