Option to disable "picked for you" video content?

Option to disable "picked for you" video content?

Is there a way to disable the "picked for you" feature that is popping up front and centre in my Spotify mobile app? I'm not talking about music recommendations (that part I'm generally ok with), I'm talking about the ones with auto-playing video thumbnails containing what I can only describe as clickbait / influencer style content. E.g. "The highest paid skill they don't teach you at school", "2025's top board game with [insert celebrity name here]", or today's one "how long is too long without **bleep**" featuring two instagram influencers. It's like I've just opened Youtube and it's trying to feed me what it thinks is the most clickable content. But it's not. And even if it was somewhat relevant content, I simply do not need video-style podcasts in my life.
After 8 years of loving Spotify, this recurring "picked for you" clickbait style content that keeps showing up at the top of my feed has led me to do some serious research into Spotify alternatives recently.

Hi @Alderson88,

Thanks for posting in the Spotify Community, and welcome!

Unfortunately, there isn’t a currently a way to customize which sections of content (such as "Picked for you") appear on the Home screen; you can only toggle between the "All," "Music," "Podcasts," and "Audiobooks" filters.

However, there's a relevant Live Idea in the Idea Exchange for being able to customize the Home screen. If it’s something you’re interested in, I’d recommend adding your +VOTE to the idea (even though its current status is "Not Right Now"). The more votes an idea gets, the likelier it is that Spotify will implement it, and you can read more about how feedback on ideas reaches Spotify here.

Feel free to also Subscribe to the idea by clicking the three dots next to its title; that way, you can be sure to be informed of any relevant updates.

Let me know if you have any other questions, and have a good day!

I know that you don't have control over this and that you're going to suggest that I should create a new topic or put it on a suggestions page, but this is an unacceptable downgrade for a premium service that I'm paying to be ad-free. I've tested apple music and was unhappy with its UI, but it didn't throw cheap ai music into my recommendations or auto play clickbait videos on the front page, and that's enough for me to change to it.

Hi @Jdogg54,

Thank you for sharing your thoughts here! I'd like to assure you that every piece of feedback is being looked at and they're making a difference by posting here.

Much agree with you. We are paying premium and they still find a way to squeeze silly ads... I am now looking for alternative to Spotify...

I hate Spotify now. I’m paying over $20 a month for you to make the Home Screen an ad filled mess and insert ads into podcasts. I’m paying for premium, stop punishing me for paying for your service. I’m going to tidal.

I will also stop my subscription now after 10+ years because of this issue. I also need to be able to control tiktok/youtube shorts style content for my kids, and it is simply not acceptable that they get this garbage in their music player app. Please spotify, stay true to your values and original purpose.

I am an 8+ year member also and am considering an alternative due to this "picked for you" suggestions of podcasts that are offensive. I am a Spotify member primarily for music, and do not understand why the app seems to want to insert podcast suggestions into my music profile. The simple fix would be to allow the user to disable this or change / customize the Home Screen.
