My Question or Issue
Hi,
my recent played songs are not synced if I use Spotify connect. The list is only updated if I use the Spotify App on Android directly and play the music directly on the phone. If I use desktop client and a device with Spotify connect or Sonos App nothing is synced.
How to fix this?
It seems you're experiencing issues with your Spotify recently played songs syncing across different devices and platforms. Here are a few steps you can try to fix this issue:
Update all apps: Ensure that you have the latest version of the Spotify app on your Android phone, desktop client, and the Sonos app. Outdated apps can sometimes cause syncing issues.
Log out and log back in: Try logging out of your Spotify account on all devices, including your Android phone, desktop client, and the Sonos app. Then log back in to see if this resolves the syncing issue.
Clear cache: On your Android phone, go to Settings > Apps > Spotify > Storage > Clear Cache. On the desktop client, follow these steps:
a. Click on the three-dot menu (top-left corner) > Edit > Preferences.
b. Scroll down to "Show Advanced Settings" and click on it.
c. Find "Offline songs storage" and click on the "Clear Cache" button.
Reconnect Spotify on Sonos: Open the Sonos app and go to Settings > Services & Voice > Spotify > Remove Account. After removing the account, add it again by going to Settings > Services & Voice > Add a Service > Spotify, and follow the instructions to link your account.
Check your network: Make sure you have a stable internet connection on all devices. A weak connection can sometimes cause syncing issues.
Reinstall apps: If the above steps don't work, try uninstalling and reinstalling the Spotify app on your Android phone and desktop client.
If none of these steps resolve the issue, consider reaching out to Spotify Support through their official channels. They may be able to provide further assistance or look into any potential bugs or service issues.
Hi,
thank you for your very good answer. But unfortunately this does not solve my problem.
But I tested serveral possibilities over the weekend:
I reinstalled the spotify and the sonos App
Playing the music on the same device as the app is used the recent played songs are countered and also synchronized.
Example:
Start Sportify on Android device and playback on the same device -> stored and synced
Start Sonos on Android device and playback over the sonos devices -> stored and synced
Start Spotify on Desktop and playback on the same device -> stored and synced
Now the tests using Spotify connect:
Start Spotify on Android device and playback on Sonos device via Spotify connect -> stored only on the used app and not synced
Start Spotify on Desktop playback on Sonos device via Spotify connect -> stored only on the used app and not synced
Sonos recognized the right account that uses Spotify connect. I tested it also with raspotify on my Pi with the same behaviour.
But it is stored when you only playback the song on the device for 1 second 🙂
I also use stats.fm for Spotify and also here I can't see the recently played songs. But it show the currenty played song correctly as all of the other apps.
I came to the conclusion that a connection via Spotify connect does not sync the recently played songs.
Any ideas?
wrote an email to Spotify support. let's see what comes as a reply
I'm sorry it didn't work. Sorry for not being able to help more effectively in your case. I will report your case to the development team. A big hug and a great Wednesday!
