Release Radar/Discover Weekly Hiding Songs NOT in the Playlist

My Question or Issue

Hey there. This seems to be a new issue as I've never encountered this problem before, even though I've repeated the exact same circumstances in previous weeks/months.  Ok, so on the mobile Release Radar and Discover Weekly (plus other possible playlists I haven't checked), you have the option to either hide a song (the minus sign in a circle) or add it to a playlist (the plus sign in a circle).  The "Hide" option should only apply to songs in that playlist; however, I've noticed that you can hide ANY song - regardless if it's on your Release Radar or not. If you hide that song, you will not be able to "Unhide" it. If you add it to your Queue or the "Next from Release Radar" section, it will skip that song and go on to the next one.  The included screenshot gives an example of a song that is clearly not a recent release that I added to the Next from Release Radar queue (see playlist title at the top) yet still have the option to Hide the song (right next to the plus sign in a circle).  This looks like an easily repeatable issue, so I implore you to try it for yourself to see what happens!

Interestingly enough, this seems to be a mobile-only issue.  The song played when repeating the process on my computer: after Hiding the song and adding it back into my Release Radar Queue, the song still played.  Important to note that this problem DID solve itself after some amount of time and was not tied to me closing & reopening the app or turning off & on my phone (both of which I did).  I also tried Hiding and Unhiding the song in its own "Album", but that didn't fix the issue.  And since it's not in my Release Radar, I cannot simply Unhide it straight from that playlist.  Regardless, this should not be possible and only serves as an unintended long-form skip/Hide on a "generated" playlist.  This seems like a bug.  Please fix it and let me know if you need any more info.  Thanks!

Thanks for posting in the Community and welcome.

We tried, but we were unable to replicate the behavior from our side. We can Hide the song on the playlist, and when that's done, the song won't be played within that playlist. However, it's still possible to play it without any issues outside of that playlist. It can also be Unhidden at any moment. 

Nevertheless, maybe we still need to  fully understand the situation you're describing. So we can do that, would you mind sending us a video recording of this behavior? You can attach it in your next reply in mp4 format, or you can also upload it to YouTube or Google Drive and make it public, so we can visualize it.

We'll keep an eye out for your reply.

Thanks for the response.  Unfortunately, I do not believe sending a video recording will help matters.  Either I wrote my initial post poorly or you didn’t really get what I was saying.  Regardless, I will restate, even though it ultimately doesn’t matter as the exhibited behavior reverts after about 10 minutes as if the problem never happened in the first place.

Yes, I understand the song can be played normally outside of the Release Radar or Discover Weekly playlist if Hidden in said playlist/s; however, that's not really what I'm asking.  Why is there an option to Hide a song from your queue while playing a playlist that doesn't contain that song - that's what seems strange.  Why can I Hide a queued song while playing the Release Radar when that queued song came out in the 50s?  Why do I have the option to Hide a queued song while playing my Discover Weekly if it's on my Liked Songs and I've been listening to it a lot?  It's almost as if the app knows this shouldn't be possible, because a few minutes after the queued song is Hidden and unable to be played while using Release Radar or Discover Weekly, the action gets undone and I'm suddenly able to listen to the queued song while using one of those playlists.

The steps shouldn't be that hard to replicate:

1. Play either the Release Radar or Discover Weekly playlist.
2. Add a song not on that playlist to your queue.
3. You should see the Hide icon (minus in a circle) available for that song.
4. Tap it and that queued song should be hidden.
5. Now, while still playing that playlist, add that song back to your queue.
6. That queued song will be skipped and the next song played will be either the next song on that playlist or the next entry in your queue.  There will be no way to Unhide the Hidden queued song from that playlist since it was never in that playlist to begin with.
7. Wait about 10 minutes or so and, for some reason, you will be able to play that song from your queue while using the Release Radar or Discover Weekly playlist again.  Almost as if you never Hid the song in the first place.

Again, this all doesn't really matter as the problem gets undone mere minutes afterwards, it's just a bizarre oversight I discovered while using the app.  I hope I cleared up any confusion from my original post and my restatement makes more sense.  Sorry I couldn't attach a video.  Cheers.

I’m asking for a simple feature: please bring back the ability to delete or hide songs, albums, or playlists from the “Recently Played” section. Sometimes users listen to things they don’t want to keep in their history — whether for privacy, personal reasons, or just by mistake.

Right now, there’s no way to remove these items, and it feels like users have no control over their own listening history. A setting to hide or delete specific entries would make the experience more flexible and respectful of user choices.

It’s a small update, but it would make a big difference.
