Release Radar - only 30 tracks max

Solved!

Release Radar - only 30 tracks max

Hi,
I used to have between 100-200 tracks every friday on release radar, this week I only got 30.

It seems it's the 'default' number when you don't follow lots of artists (which is not my case, I follow almost 2000 artists)

How can I get back to getting all the new releases ?
Thank you !

Mine is back up to 85 today from 30 on Friday... still not the 100+ I used to have (since I follow something line 2k artists) but at least it's something

Holy smokes - yes! mine is back too. 195 songs. Spotify just leave Release Radar alone. If you want to offer a shorter alternative for those who may feel overwhelmed by the number, give them another playlist or allow a filter toggle. Don't take away a tool that many music enthusiasts use to create playlists, write up reviews and most importantly - stay fully informed by the release of their favourite artists.

Well said.

Even with Release Radar back to normal, we're still missing out on a lot of releases. Spotify caps it to 200 new songs. Crabhands is showing me 1350 new releases for me, for the month of August. Meaning that, with Spotify's Release Radar, I've missed out on around 500 new songs. On one hand, I am grateful Release Radar was nerfed because that is how I found Crabhands, which I will continue using, alongside Release Radar.

Yeah I totally agree with this. Opened up my eyes to how many songs I was missing weekly

The alternatives to Release Radar were filled with Compilation Albums. Made them incredibly annoying to sift through and pretty worthless to me. Plus, 1000 plus tracks is just too much. I wouldn't mind 300 or 400 tracks, but am satisfied with Release Radar seemingly returning to its original state.

Assuming it's a permanent change back, thank you Spotify for listening to the consumers on this one.

Crabhands gives the whole release, RR just selects one song... I follow about 3k artists and generally get about 180 - the max 200 tracks in my RR. I'm guessing I miss out on some in peak release times, such as Feb-June and Sept-Nov.

Yes like you I'm grateful that Spotify has listened to what users want. Having our release radars restored.makes finding new music from artists we follow a lot easier. I went to Netlify as a backup an like you found compilation albums annoying. I was able to remove them by filtering out "appears on" before exporting.

I literally downloaded crab hands 2 days ago because of the issues I was having with Spotify. The only bummer is that it gives me the new releases for this week not the ones I missed 3-4 weeks ago. I fear I’ll never get those ones back

"Spotify Release List" will give you the whole month.

So does Crabhands, as you can see in this screenshot

Thank you so much! I appreciate this 😊

For some reason my crabhands gave me mostly albums for this week but not any releases beyond that. I only have 230 songs in my generated playlist. Idk I think I should've used the app sooner

It gave me 1283 releases for the whole month, right off the bat, and I've only been using it for about 5 days now.

Started using it 3 days ago and I only got 230. I follow 6.5k artists so idk what’s up with mine? 😭

Edit: I realized the artists I follow barely any of them released music this month. So the 230 songs is pretty accurate I guess.

Give it all the permissions it needs to read your Spotify profile. Also, try logging out and back in. Clear the Crabhands cache. Maybe it'll work. Good luck 🤞 🍀

finally its back to 200 tracks in RR for me as well

Mine is also back to normal. Let's go!

Spotify’s App Team has restored functionality, listener playlists are no longer restricted to 30 songs. Hooray!

Interestingly I've never had 200 tracks. I only use the web player and in all this time I'd only ever had around 30 tracks. I'm not a paid subscriber so I don't know if that's the difference.

I came here though because this week I actually do have 200 tracks but NONE relate to my listening history. Instead they're all mainstream chart artists (which I don't listen to) - so I can only assume it is like a default list a new user might see, all the new releases of stuff that should be most popular.

What's also odd is that the image shows an artist I have listened to - but they don't feature in the list at all.
