Spotify on PC fades down to nothing when no other sound is playing

Starting yesterday the spotify client has started behaving problematically when theres no other sound playing on my PC, the volume slider in spotify still shows the regular volume and it keeps playing i just cant hear it.

Thanks for reaching out about this here in the Community.

Have you already tried the steps suggested by @Alex here? Clearing any entries that contain Spotify from the Host files on your system before clear-reinstalling the app could do the trick in this case.
