My Question or Issue

Recently I’ve been listening to curated Spotify playlists, specifically 60s Country and 70s Country. Shuffle is OFF. But while listening to the list from the top, I will hear a song or a streak of songs I’ve already heard before. So I’ll go back to the playlist and find that the order of songs has changed, so that songs I’ve already listened to are lower, and songs I haven’t heard yet are higher. This happens so frequently that the playlists are essentially unlistenable. Like every couple of songs the list will reorder and I’ll be back to hearing songs I’ve already heard. Is there a way to fix this so that the playlist remains static and I don’t have to keep finding my place in the playlist over and over again? It doesn’t happen (or hasn’t happened yet) to me with user created playlists, only Spotify ones.

Hi there @InspectahDerk,

Thank you for taking the time to post here in the Community. We'd like to take a closer look into this.

To start with, can you take a screenshot of the playlist so we can see how it looks like when you start listening to it? It would also be great if you can take a screenshot of the queue.

When this happens, please take a screenshot of the playlist and the queue again and post all of the screenshots in your next reply so that we can have a closer look directly from our end.

It would also be great if you can provide us the URI and if it occurs after a specific song in the playlist or if it's random.

We'll keep an eye out for your reply.

Take care 🙂

Live, love, laugh and listen to music 🙂

This was the playlist and queue when I started listening.

And then right after the first song, a different song started playing next that wasn’t at that spot in the playlist or queue, and the playlist is in a different order.

Hey @InspectahDerk,

Thanks for your reply.

Could you tell us if this happens with other playlists and when logging in with a different device?

Lastly, let us know if this behavior started after a recent update on your phone.

Keep us in the loop.

Is there a solution or fix to this issue? It happens to me on almost every playlist I listen to. Extremely frustrating. It’s enough to make me go back to Apple Music.

Hey there @user-removed,

Thanks for getting in touch about this.

Could you let us know which troubleshooting steps you've already tried? That way we can avoid any repeating steps.

Also, we'd like to know if this happens across devices or only on a specific one.

Lastly, could you let us know if this started happening after a specific event such as an update?

We'll be on the lookout.
