Why do I keep getting recommended Chinese songs?

Why do I keep getting Chinese and Vietnamese songs on my Discover Weekly when I never listen to either languages? I've listened to Korean and Japanese songs before and have added them to playlists, but never Chinese and Vietnamese. Is Spotify just assuming that if you like one Asian language, you'll like all other ones? That seems pretty silly. That's like someone who listens to English and Spanish music being recommended French and German songs. It makes no sense. I've pressed dislike on every Chinese and Vietnamese songs, yet they keep getting recommended to me. Is there a way to fix this? Also, recently the dislike button has disappeared. I don't see it on the desktop app, mobile app, or web browser.

We're sorry to hear that you've been receiving recommendations you didn't enjoy in the Discover weekly playlist. We can confirm the Hide this song feature blocks a certain track from the specific playlist on the current device. The way that Discover weekly is set up is that it gets renewed every week and counts as a new playlist. Because of this, the songs that you had hidden in the last week might still appear in the new one.

On another note, you can mute an artist so it won't be played again. From the mobile app, head to the artist's page, tap on the 3 dot menu and select "Don't play this". This will affect all your devices. 

Lastly, since you mentioned you don't see the "Hide this song" option, would you mind sending us a screenshot of what options you're seeing when you tap on the 3 dots next to a song on the mobile app and what you see in the desktop app/web player? You can attach them to your next response by using the Insert image option in the post editor. Make sure not to send any private info.

I'm Brazilian, and for about 4 months my Discover Weekly is only suggesting me Brazilian songs. I used to be proud of my Discover Weekly, They recommended what I really wanted to hear, but it seems that now there is no music that is not Brazilian and it is limiting my discoveries too much. I already removed it from my music profile and nothing changed.

Discover weekly used to be a good resource for discovering new music based on my previous listening. I discovered a lot of new artists and genres.
However since moving from Android Samsung S21 to Iphone 15 my Discover Weekly has changed completely! I do recognise some of the songs as they are in my mother language but it’s definitely not my taste of music and it’s not varied enough and only in Turkish! I used to get one or two Turkish music and don’t expected the whole thing to be suggesting Turkish only… it’s an odd genre as well, Arabesque and Slow Folk music…
i do listen fee turkish podcasts and few artists but they don’t make the majority of my playlists etc… and they are usually Hiphop and Rock…

i am based in Uk…

It really killed the joy of Discover Weekly…
