a-ha "Minor Earth, Major Sky" album not playable ("Spotify can't play this right now")

a-ha "Minor Earth, Major Sky" album not playable ("Spotify can't play this right now")

There's no fitting subforum so I post it here.

Issue is in the title. This problem does apply to all playback devices (I tried with Windows Desktop app, Browser web player, and Android app) so I guess it's a server problem.

Other artists/albums don't seem to be affected though I didn't test all that is available of course.

Hi, @Sylverblack,

Thanks for reaching out to the Spotify Community!

I just checked on my end and I'm able to play that album without issues. I'd recommend trying out the troubleshooting steps in this article, particularly under "Playback fails for certain artists/songs only".

Hope this helps! Let us know how it goes 👍

Unfortunately, that did not help and it is not possible for me to "unblock" the artist since this was not the case in the first place. To double-check this, I created a new account but it's not possible to play the songs with that either. Therefore, the issue is not account-related.

Since you can stream it, it may be due to regional permissions. Also, for me the album is not findable any more in the discography section (may have been replaced with a 2019 Deluxe Edition yet the original version is still accessible via search or having one of its songs in any Playlist you have access to).

Thanks for confirming, @Sylverblack!

In that case you might be right and that particular version of the album might not be available in your region at the moment. As much as we'd love to have all the music in the world on Spotify, the content may vary over time and between countries. This depends on permissions from rights holders.

We add new content every day, so if you can’t find something, it may appear (or reappear) soon. In the meantime, you can import local files to your Spotify library.

The Community is just a post away if something else comes up.
