Does anyone know if 3rd party apps are being discontinued forever or just temorarily? I can't tell if they are just discontinuing the current API/SDK so that they can release a new API/SDK(like what they released for iOS/Android), or if they are actually completely removing the feature from the desktop platform for good.
I only just heard about this and the few articles I found on the subject weren't very clear about this. So I'm not that well informed on the matter. Sorry if this has already been covered.

So it is being completely discontinued without being replaced by an alternate feature? That page is just in regards to the current app finder feature/API/SDK. I'm asking if there will be something replacing it.
