Songs skip instantaneously

I am unable to play any song on the desktop. Whenever I try to it tells me in the client that it was unable to find the file, instantly skips to the next song in the playlist, tells me it was unable to find the file and skips to the next song and keeps going like this. I am running Manjaro Linux with the i3 window manager, which does not have a graphical sound controller. I am, however, fully able to play any other sound, including from the spotify website.
