Hi!!
With the two last Spotify versions, when I use the default Ubuntu icon theme there isn't the default Spotify icon on my Unity launcher, instead, there is a grey icon.
But, if I change to another icon theme then is correctly shown:

Hi,
Try this:
open terminal and type sudo nautilus then go to /usr/share/applications search for spotify and right-click to change the icon.
You can find the icons at /opt/spotify/spotify-client/Icons
