There is an issue with the Search function on desktop that's currently being investigated by Spotify. Here you can find the tread with all the details. Whenever it's fixed, Spotify staff will post an announcement in the thread.

In the meantime, you can comment your OS and Spotify version in the thread to help Spotify teams look into this.
