My Question or Issue
I simply cannot join any Jams on Linux, at all. Whenever I click on a Spotify Jam link, my browser (chrome) gets opened, which then instructs me to open the link with the spotify client. I allow that, spotify desktop client opens but nothing happens, no UI to 'join jam' appears at all.
Yes, I have the same problem. The only walkaround I have found for now is to join the Jam on other device (for example phone) and then under "Connect to a device" option (it has device with a speaker icon) choose the desired Linux machine as the "Current device". The sound will start playing from the Linux Spotify app and it will join the Jam automatically.
Same problem here. Have tried both Snap and .deb versions of the spotify-client package under Linux mint. I can't see "nearby" jams on the same network, and when I click links to join a jam they're not recognised as Spotify URIs and they just open in Firefox and don't forward the link to the spotify client. Also tried Chromium browser with the same result.
OK so the only reason for using the app (jams) doesn't work and the workaround also works for web, not just the linux app..
Will this ever be fixed? For Steam, Linux users are already more then 2% and rising.
One year later from OP and still no fix...
Still not working for me as well....
