spotify app doesnt' scale to HDPI displays, hardly usable

Device

xps 15 7590

Operating System

ubuntu 18.04LTS, Cinnamon

My Question or Issue

Spotify app doesnt scale on HDPI screen.

app threats 3840x2160 res. as something normal and in result everything is super small (on 15" screen), despite the rest of the system being scaled 2x up.

I found another way, just Ctrl- +/- to scale it up/down
i don't want to fix that --force-device-scale-factor=2 (it works by the way)
because i connect external displays often as well (which are 1920x1080)

Hey @razorre

Do you use a Snap Spotify?

I found a user suggesting this:

To fix this issue with the snap install, you will need to find the .desktop file for the snap, which is by default under

/var/lib/snapd/desktop/applications/

There, find the spotify_spotify.desktop file and add the --force-device-scale-factor flag to the exec line, right at the end before %U.

For instance this:

--force-device-scale-factor=2

Let me know how it goes!

nope, forcing scale-factor=2

doesn't solve the problem, because i have external monitors (without HDPI)
