After updating app, all saved artists are gone except for a few

After updating app, all saved artists are gone except for a few

Hi all,

I recently updated the Spotify app for mac and when it rebooted I had lost all artists except for 6-7 recent adds. When I check the online browser version, all my saved artists are still there. However, in the app, it shows that I can "resave" those artists because it for whatever reason doesn't know they have been saved already. Has anybody had this issue and have any ways to solve it? I also upgraded to spotify premium after this issue but that didn't solve anything either. 

I signed out of my account several times but no luck. Thank you for any suggestions or help!
