AirPods Cause Spotify to Quit Working

MacBook Pro Mid 2015, Apple Airpods, Spotify

Operating System

OS X Yosomite 10.10.5

 

My Question or Issue

I recently purchased airpods. Whenver I connect my airpods to my mac via bluetooth and try to listen to spotify it tells me that it "Cant play the current Song." I have tried quitting and restarting spotify, and deleting the application off of my hard drive and re-installing it to solve the problem with no results. I have no issues listening to spotify via my computer speaker, but whenever I connect my Airpods it says every single song on my playlists are unplayable and when I disconnect my Airpods, the music is still unplayable until I quit and restart the App. When my airpods are connected I can listen to music on Youtube and other applications, but for some reason they wont work with Spotify. I have also googed this issue and found previous posts on the community that offered no help, so I thought I would try posting myself.

Hi there!

I know it sounds simple, but it's often overlooked. Could you try a clean reinstall of the app? Just follow these steps.

 

Also, make sure to have macOS Mojave 10.14.6 installed.
