Available Devices Not Showing Up

My Question or Issue:

I'm connected to the same wifi as my chromecast speaker but it shows no available devices on my desktop Spotify app

Hey! I had the same problem with my chromecast not too long ago, i'm running a Macbook air early 2015. What i did to fix the problem, was that i went on my phone, opened up spotify, also on the same WIFI, and then it popped up there. After i connected it on my phone, it would start popping up on my computer as well. I'm unaware of what the bug is, but that should be a way to fix it.

Spotify Desktop does not support Chromecast. That's what the support told me.

Good news!

You can now find Chromecast in the connect "devices available" menu in the Spotify desktop app and browser web player. Now you can cast your music to Chromecast from the desktop app without having to use the iOS or Android app.

Make sure your Spotify desktop app is up to date
