My Question or Issue

For the last week or two, every time I try to listen to music on the web player a message comes up saying that Spotify can't play that song right now. It happens to every song, not just a particular one. I've tried clearing my cache, using an incognito tab, and messaging with the support bot. I'm assuming this might be because my laptop is old, but Spotify was working fine on it until recently. Is there anything I can do?

I don't have the app on my laptop and don't really like using it on my phone. I really just want to be able to use the web player.

Hi there @mm11137453,

Thanks for reaching out. What browser are you using? What version of it? Consider trying different browsers and see if the issue persists across all of them. Also test if the same issue occurs across different networks.

Let us know how it goes.

I keep getting this pop up every time I choose a song manually "Spotify can't play this right now. If you have the file on your computer you can import it" I tried looking for ways to fix this online but I only get answer for people who have the app. I use Spotify web player on my MacBook Air and my setting don't let me clear cache or check for updates. I still restarted my device, update my macbook's software and checked my wifi but it still doesn't help fix it. Whenever that message pops up it skips the song I picked and skips to a different song and it keeps doing that the only way I can get to play the song I want is to reload the page. I don't know how to fix this.

Hey @Sarawatlism,

Thanks for reaching out!

What I'd advise in this situation is to try removing the cache & cookies of the browser itself to see if that would make a difference.
If that doesn't help out, take a look at the post from @Joan and try the steps listed there 🙂

Keep us posted on how things go! We'll be on the lookout.
