Fine-grained volume control using the mouse wheel

Fine-grained volume control using the mouse wheel

I think we should have the ability to control the volume of the Spotify app (especially on personal computers, Mac incl.) with as much precision as manually moving the slider, using our mouse scroll wheel.
Modern peripherals are becoming more exacting with time. My Logitech, for example, has free-wheeling for scroll control available, as do a lot of other mice.
This concept could also be applied to remote control of volume with mobile devices via the app, smaller increments are often more desirable than large jumps in volume.

Hi there @Asylum-Media,

Thanks for reaching out. We've moved your post here where it better fits.

According to my testing, this should be possible. Just click the volume slider in the corner once, make sure your cursor is on top of it and then scroll, this will let you adjust it precisely using the mouse wheel.

Hope this helps.

Usually I just mouse over the volume slider and roll the mouse wheel and it works. Now, the volume indicator jumps up a small amount for a millisecond and immediately back down to where it was.  There is definitely something up with web based volume control in the past month or two.  Same browser (edge) no adblock on spotify website.

Hi there @Bikergofast,

Thanks for the reply.

We're aware of some issues with the behaviour of the web player, including the volume slider jumping around. We're currently investigating this, so see here for the full info. Try any steps provided and send any relevant info you may have.

Cheers!
