How to prevent Spotify from using the Microphone?

My Question or Issue

When I start playing a song using the Desktop App my antivirus software warns me that my microphone is being used by the app. How can I prevent the app from using my microphone?

Hey @JohnTheVikingDK, welcome to the community!

To my knowledge, Spotify shouldn't be using the microphone, and if it is, the application would not be actually recording you.

However, if you're still worried, in a future MacOS update (Mojave, coming out around next month), you will be able to choose which applications get to use your camera / microphone, so you will be able to lock that down.
