My Question or Issue

My spotify desktop app is always gray (nothing else appears). I tried to delete and reinstall numerous times but nothing changes. I tried troubleshooting but nothing appears because the entire window is blank. In addition, my web player does not play any music. Like the play button itself is grayish and does not allow me to press on any songs. I updated my browser (chrome), updated the website’s  permissions and tried openning on an incognito window but reached nothing. The weird part is my phone app is working perfectly fine.

Since you mention this is only happening on your computer, it sounds like this might be related to network restrictions or firewall settings - so we'd first recommend checking firewall, antivirus, or security software settings to ensure Spotify is allowed full internet access.

 

If you're on a managed network (like work, school, etc.), you can contact the network administrator to ensure Spotify is not being blocked.

 

Also, if you're using a VPN, make sure to disable it before trying again. VPNs aren't officially supported and could cause performance issues with the app.
