I can (and am) logged in to the web interface--it won't allow me to login to the desktop app (newly minted pw too).

That's odd. What message do you get when you try to log in your desktop app?

Can you try logging in using a different account? Maybe from a friend or someone from your family?

Hey there, in addition to what @Bittencourt has mentioned. You can try the below steps as well:

Try logging into Spotify in an incognito window with the same account and see if that works.
Turn off any VPN/DNS/Ad Blocker service that could interfere if enabled.
Reinstall the Spotify app from the official website.
Reset your password one more time using this link.
