Keeping local files in playlists when migrating to new laptop

I have a lot of local files on my current laptop, and I have a lot of playlists that mix Spotify music and local files. I moonlight as a DJ so those playlists are super important to me-- I have over 20 playlists with several hundred songs each, some Spotify songs, some local files.

Now I am getting a new laptop. Of course I can copy the local files over, but I am afraid I will lose the references to them in the playlists. Would I have to rebuild all of the playlists to reference the new copies of the files? I really hope someone will tell me there is a better way!

Hey @pupochik, welcome to the Community.

Hope you're doing great!

When you change your laptop you will have to move your local files to the new one.

However, the playlists will remain and you should have no issues with them when moving to the new laptop along with your local files.

Hope it helps 🙂
