No longer able to tell if a song has been saved?! How to avoid duplicates in playlists?

No longer able to tell if a song has been saved?! How to avoid duplicates in playlists?

Why Spotify did away with the yellow star is beyond me. It was an easy and effective way to tell if a song was already added to my collection. Without the star, it's going to be very easy to forget what songs I have saved....resulting in duplicates in my collection.

I guess my question is..."how can users tell if a song has already been saved without the tedioius task of having to cycle through our playlists?". Before it was easy...you see a yellow star next to a song...it meant that song was already in your starred folder.

Am I missing something here? Thanks for any help.

You get almost the same thing with Your Music, but you get a tick if it is saved in your music collection rather than a star.

So this feature doesn't work with the old "Starred" folder, but only the "music" folders? And there's no way to tell if a song has already been added to a playlist? Apparently I'm not the only one who wants this feature...as there are over 2000 users who agreed with this user's request from over 2 years ago: http://community.spotify.com/t5/Spotify-Ideas/Way-to-know-if-a-song-is-in-my-playlists/idc-p/817291#... Unfortunately the feature request has apparently fallen on deaf ears despite it being a feature that should be a given.
