Why is it that music players used to be more flexible and fit into more environments, but these days, the only three options within Spotify are cumbersome and clunky windowed view, or Full screen, or hidden completely.
When computers became a popular source for the labels and musicians, there were options that allowed for all types of players. Ones that were contextual, ones that were minimalistic, but yet showed all the pertinent information, ones that were large and grandiose expressions of art and music, and ones that were designed for specific use cases. Bottom line was that we had choices that allowed us to enjoy music in ways that best suit US. Now days, the supertankers in the music oceans have killed off all of the little innovative boats and left us with what those services force feed us.
How maybe people have asked for better player options, yet we still today are stuck with what Spotify says we get. Yes, people suggest and Spotify says we'll look into it, but ultimately, it is always the one size has to fit all approach, so innovations and ways to make things better work slower than finally getting rid of Internet Explorer. It took competition to get rid of IE. Do we have to resort to using competition to get Spotify to actually innovate something in regards to the interface?
We pay for your service, but are stuck with getting constant advertisements thrown in our feed for things we don't want. I want a music player, not podcasts. Stop hiding my Release Radar. Stop making me go through the whole store to get to the music I want to listen to. If I see another stupid push for Real Crime dramas, I am going to scream. You can have all of the above features, but if you force people to deal with the ones they do not want all the time, it is no longer what they want. It is what YOU want. I am not paying Spotify to play what you want. I pay Spotify to play what I want.
