Spotify using 120% CPU

Issue:

Spotify consistantly runs at a ridiculously high CPU demand, regularly over 100% causing macbook to run at a very high temperature and drain battery.

The Spotify Helper activity is the one that is around 120%, the spotify app runs at a reasonable 3-5% CPU.

The only fix is to 'hide' the app (CMD+H), this brings the Spotify Helper activity down to 2-3%. This is unacceptable however as you should be able to see the app.

Could you try disabling Hardware Acceleration by going into the Spotify menu in the Menu Bar?
