Can't seem to find any pictures that fit the border 300x300, even when I try 300x300 it doesn't seem to work and says the image is too small. anyone know why?

Hi @Discotits101 and welcome to the Spotify Community! 🙂
300x300 is actually the minimum allowed so you don't have to worry about having it that size exactly as it will be sized in to fit. I recommend using an image anywhere from 600 - 800. Square images work best too.
You could also check your file type to make sure it is .JPEG or .PNG format. I typically use .PNG and have had no trouble so far.
