My Question or Issue

Hi,

Reinstalled the Windows Desktop app earlier today to fix a bug involving podcast speed - and while that got fixed, an even bigger bug showed up after reinstalling. Now, most actions in the app - e.g, trying to play a song, opening a playlist - have a delay of about 20 seconds when I click on them. This only happens in the desktop app, the web player and iOS app work fine.

I've already tried:

  • Disabling hardware acceleration
  • Re-enabling hardware acceleration
  • Reloading app
  • Logging out and logging back in
  • Clearing cache
  • Uninstalling app
  • Cleanly uninstalling and reinstalling app (i.e., uninstalling and clearing any related files, rebooting PC, and reinstalling)

Trying to open an error log in Explorer returns a mostly empty log:

  "message_chunks": [
[]
  ],
  "loadEvents": []
}

Hi,

Thanks for the answer, but just going to mention that after leaving the app alone for a day (used web player in the meantime) and doing nothing with it, it suddenly seems to be working properly.

(FWIW, I did not notice any performance issues while the app was running, including CPU and RAM usage)

Hi @velocity_design_comf,

Thanks for reaching out.

This behaviour is quite odd, especially thinking what might have changed after the reinstall to cause it. And something that further reinstalls cannot resolve.

Could you please try the following:

  • Try installing both the version from the Microsoft Store and the one from our website to see if they behave differently.
  • Is the CPU and/or RAM usage of the app abnormally high?
  • Have you noticed any other performance issues while the app is running?
  • If possible, could you test the app on another Windows device using your account and see if the issue occurs there also?

Let us know how it goes.
