My Question or Issue

I know that changes have been made to Spotify Free in the last year, but I've been having a hard time finding out exactly what changed and why. I am in the middle of a specific project that I had a specific system for with the music I have saved on Spotify. The way it works best is going through the songs alphabetically and let them play going down that way. But it doesn't work that way anymore. 

If I manually press skip, it will go to the next song alphabetically, but if I let it play automatically it's not quite russian roulette, but pretty close. it will either play a song I recently added, another song by that artist, or something else that seems completely unrelated. 

Why is this the case? What else has changed? I don't care that the amount of control I had before has changed, I just don't like feeling blindsided.
