Can't open spotify!

Solved!

Can't open spotify!

Hello!

Today when I tried to open spotify, it wouldn't open.

It worked yesterday and it still works on my mobile so there is something wrong with the app on the computer.

I have tried uninstalling, rebooted my computer. I can't even find the spotify folder, the only folder that is there is in User/AppData/roaming/spotify it doesn't exist in C:/Program, C:/, C:/Program(x86) or C:/ProgramData.

When I click on the the app it starts loading but the program never comes up. The Process Spotify.exe *32 is running in my processes but it uses 00 CPU and the kB is on a constant 4368.

How can I fix this?

My windows is up to date and it is windows 7 ultimate 64-bit.

Hello. idk if this'll work for everybody but I had the same issue. I went to the downloads folder on 'my computer' .

I went to the Spotify installer and clicked on it. it over wrote the files and mine is running again. 😄

Hope it works for everybody else.

Can you post the information requested in the troubleshooting template please.

Hi!
Sorry for my Bad English..
Got the same Problems like the Users before.
Got a new Notebook with Windows 8 64 Bit.
Update it on Windows 8.1 with all Windows-Updates.

Downloaded Spotify from Official Website, Install it.
Want to start Spotify > Nothing Happens
Spotify is located at ....appdata.roaming like others write it here before.
When i try to start spotify in taskmanager spotify.exe is running but nothing happens.
Remove the folder to c/programms(x86) dont work.
Spotify is in the exceptions of my firewall, but there was no need before, my firewall didnt block spotify in the last year.

I have really no idea what else i can do..
Hope i get some help here.

Well I don't know much on how I could help but when I posted before helped me but I have no idea for others but click install spotify in your folders somewhere (should be in downloads) and let it reinstall fully and see if that works, Other than that I don't know how else to help on it so if it does't work you might have to use their webplayer online https://play.spotify.com/

there you will have to log in and it is just like their app but still different. Wish the best of luck to all.

Okay so, I have had  the same problem as you, or not completly but i could'nt start my spotify. So i tried to uninstall it all from my Appdata and then when i installled it again it started the login screen up, It didnt do that before. But when i type in my login and press login then it closes, and nothing happens..:( Any help?

@Evald - What version of Windows are you using?

Its Windows 7 Professionel 64 bit,  Sorry for taking so long replying

Strange, could you try right clicking the desktop icon and selecting run as administrator?

Just tried it, just does the same. When i type in my log in and press enter the window dissapears and says the login sound but the sound doesn't finish and nothing happens after that.   Not sure if you know what sound i talk about but when you log in there is a little sound

This Worked REALLY well, Fast and simple.

Hi,

I'm really annoying. I'm a big Spotify user, but at work, the app doesnt work on my desktop (i launch spotify, see the login screen, and suddenly the main window crashes. Spotify icon is on my taskbar but disappears when i hover it). Each day i have to do a clean reinstall so i can use it.

I'm on Win 7 pro 64 bits,

Have you a trick in your sleave i could try, because i'm running out of options right now ...

.dmp files enclosed.

Well. I got my spotify working again it just worked after 2 days i started my pc and it opened 😄 maybe some kind of update fixed it?

@osorojo - Spotify installs itself into the %appdata% folders on Windows, which are often restricted by security software or group policies in corporate computers. I suspect if you are in work something is preventing Spotify from running correctly from it's install location.

I don't know what made you think to do that, but THANK YOU! This has been driving me insane for a week.

My Spotify isnt working either. i click the spotify icon and it wont run, any fix?

I moved the application into a new folder. I'm not sure what the issue was that caused it to stop working, but it seems to move aorund on it's own accord. It's ccurectly in an AppData fodler under Roaming - works fine.
