My Question or Issue

I can't play any songs that haven't been saved to my library yet (for example, when I search for a song or click on one of the suggested playlists in the Browse screen). The album cover turns black and the progress bar becomes empty.

When I play songs that have been saved to my library, however, everything seems normal (even if I start the reproduction from the Search screen; what matters is that the song is in my library, which is quite strange).

I've tried reinstalling Spotify from both the Windows Store and the standalone installer, but the problem persists.

Same issue here, glad to see it's not just me. I've tried a clean installation, restarting computer, what have you - not fixed. I hope you find a solution.

I'm upping recent threads on this issue, because it's driving me crazy too. Tried everything. Reinstall, web player, firewall, router boot. Nothing works. Only previously playlisted songs are playing.

Good wishes for eveyone

Just confirming what others said: the first run of the application after reinstall is fine, but after closing it and reopening the problem comes back.

Same for me
