So, I have the following setup:
- MacBook
- Desktop with Windows
- Android phone
I've put some local songs on the MacBook in Spotify which I want to sync with the other 2 devices and the Android phone seems to be syncing them without any issue, however, I have not been able to sync them with Windows at all.
I've deleted everything related to Spotify on Windows and reinstalled. I've disabled firewalls, tried several configurations on the Router, tried telnet to see if the Desktop can see the MacBook and it can detect other ports just fine, but I can't connect to 4070.
Was this poorly designed and it only works to sync from one device to another and not from one to all ? Or what's going on ? The status of the Playlist is just "Waiting..." and nothing I've tried made Spotify download the songs.
I'm running the latest version of Spotify and I have been trying to make this works since at least the last 5 versions.
Deezer and Google Play even allow you to store the songs in the cloud so you can sync regardless of the status of the device and this basic feature doesn't work at all...

Hey @adyjay, welcome to the Community.
Hope you're doing great!
Local files can't be synced between different computers, this feature is only available for the desktop-mobile/tablet connection.
You can read more in this support article.
Have a great day! 🙂

Thanks @loxer!
Do you happen to know if this feature is planned on being implemented at any time ?
Have a great day!
Hey @adyjay,
I don't know if this would be implemented or when, I checked but I couldn't find a post about that, maybe you can a start a new thread in the Community Ideas Exchange.
This’ll allow users, Stars, and Moderators to vote and comment on it.
Thanks 🙂
I've found a solution!!! If you send the same exact song file from your mac to PC (I personally used snapdrop.com) and then put the file into your music folder it just automatically recognizes it as the same song.
I just realized this is a 5-year-old thread lol. But at least people in the future with this same issue have an answer now.
