My Question or Issue

Hey guys!

I saw in the Task-Manager, that Spotify uses a ridiculous amount of CPU as soon as animations are used.

Example: Move the mouse over ā€œYour top mixtapesā€.

From 0.1 - 0.5% idle usage (with music as well), Spotify jumps to 20-30% usage.

All this without playing any music (pic shows Task-Manager with such a spike).

What I have already done and what is known:

  • Spotify for Windows (64 bit)
    1.2.64.408.g0a9b557c
  • Windows is updated
  • I have reinstalled Spotify from the homepage, via Microsoft Store is not an option.
  • I have disabled hardware acceleration + restart and reactivated it + restart, no change
  • Canvas is deactivated.
  • No social community or other connections
  • Network via LAN
  • Drivers are updated (via AMD and Snappy Driver)

Nevertheless, up to 30% is too much for such animations.

There has already been at least one request about this, but they seem to have been ignored.

Any ideas from the friendly community and/or team? 😊
