Does Spotify's New Releases page curated by your listening habits?

I'm not really getting all the songs that matters right now (e.g. big artist new singles, sometimes one shows up, not all) It could be inconsistency sometimes, sometimes it will show up tracks that from artists, genres I don't even care. And obv not all the tracks in the world that is being released rn is not in there too?

So I wanna ask what is it really, is the New Releases curated by someone by Spotify or is it curated by your listening habits, algorithm and content location? What is it really?

BONUS QUESTION: Why artist only releases new song in the Friday?
