English version of a song plays instead of Russian version

My Question or Issue

I have been listening to a song called Fukurou (Russian ver.) however, it plays the English version instead. It plays the Russian lyrics. The English version has no issues. After a few months (I waited as I didn't know where to report the issue), the song returned to normal for a while but then changed to the English version again randomly.

I've tried playing the song on different devices to see if it was only one device but all issues remained.

In my Spotify wrapped it says the English version was my 65th song even though it was the Russian version I constantly repeated, not the English version. I think this is linked to the previous issue before.

On another note, can you share with us the make/model and OS of the devices in which you notices the described behavior along with the Spotify version you are running on them?

Just by the link I sent you, it seems Spotify recognises the Russian version to be the English version. The Album Fukurou, it has the English and the Russian version.

I've tried playing the song on my laptop (Old Dell laptop, OS build- 19044.2364, product build- 00391-90070-70941-AA453), my mother's laptop (quite new hp laptop, unsure of certain make), and my phone (Samsung A20e, android version - 11). There is a possibility of listening to the song on other computers but I could not tell you the make as they are public computers.

I run this on the app mostly. If I played it on public computers then it was by web player but for all known devices stated above, it was on the Spotify app. I sent the links via my laptop.

Thanks for the detailed info!

Looks like a slight mix-up happened when that album was uploaded to Spotify by the artist/label and they accidentally uploaded the same version of the track twice. I believe I was able to find another upload of that same album on the artist's profile here, which has the correct version in Russian, so feel free to save it in Your Library.

Still, it's worth reaching out to the artist/label (on their social media or website) and letting them know about this, so they can take a closer look into it. Feel free to also raise a report to our internal teams by following the steps in this article.
