Friend randomly disappears and reappears...

My Question or Issue

I have one friend that randomly disappears and reappears. My other friend is always shown.

It's happened on both Linux Mint 21.3 and a fresh install of Windows 10, so I don't think it's OS-specific.

Welcome to the forum!

Would you mind giving us some more details so we can get a better understanding of what exactly is happening? 

Do you mean that the activity of your friend doesn't get regularly updated within the Friend Activity section in the app? Do you instead mean that they disappear from the Following/Followers section on your profile? 

In case it's a completely different situation, it'd be great if you could share as much info as possible.

Lastly, let us know in case the same thing happens even on another device.

They disappear from the 'Friend Activity' tab in the desktop app. (see 1st screenshot)

sound_palyer always stays, but usually, I have sound_palyer and Kane Brown. (2nd screenshot is all friends)

There are days Kane will appear... Most days, he will not.

This happened when I was using Linux Mint 21.3 and now using Windows 10. I can't seem to show 'Friend Activity' on mobile or in the Web Player.

I'm not sure if this is on my end or a Spotify glitch.

There is a possibility that this is a bug, however let's first go over some other details before we start troubleshooting.

Maybe your friend temporarily toggles off the Share my listening activity on Spotify setting or they start a private session. Would you mind getting in touch with them to confirm if that's the case and if they use Spotify regularly?

It COULD be Kane has started to not share listening data... which sucks, because I used to find so many good songs because of him!
