Friend's playlists don't update when new songs are added.

So I've been following a friend of mine's playlists since last year, but the playlists don't update with the new songs they've added to them. The only reason anyone can tell there are new songs on the playlists is because it shows up on their feed as them listening to that song in that playlist, but when clicking on the playlist, it takes me to the same playlist, as it was. 

I've tried unfollowing and refollowing the playlists, downloading them, and even compared the playlists on my phone to see if it was just a desktop thing. It's not. It's kind of annoying to not be able to listen to new content on the playlists I follow, and I don't know how to fix it so it's always up to date.

Is there an actual reason why I can see my friend listening to new songs that don't show up on the playlist, or is there a way I can tell Spotify to update the playlists from them?

For reference, I have Windows 7 and an Android phone when using Spotify.

I forgot to mention this, but this also happens with new playlists they add that I follow. New songs are beings listened to on the feed, but they don't show up at all on the playlist.
