Fullscreen application makes spotify clickthrough on secondary monitor

Fullscreen application makes spotify clickthrough on secondary monitor

I use a 2 monitor setup on redstone 3 (newest windows 10 update) and every time I exit a "true" fullscreen application (meaning no windowed fullscreen) the spotify client becomes non interactable (I can click through it to the application behind it) until I click on spotify in the taskbar and swap it back and forth my screens (win + left/right keys).

Had no issues with this prior to redstone 3 but I have not kept track of spotify versions so I have no idea if it is related to one or the other. I assume it has to do with the redstone 3 update given the timing but one case is hardly proof enough. Hopefully you lads can get a fix out.

Best of luck 🙂

I have the exact same issue. After exiting an application that used fullscreen or alt-tabing from a application, Spotify becomes unresponsive to mouse input. Latest Windows 10 update (Version 10.0.16299 Build 16299).

I am experiencing the same problem, it is getting quite annoying.

I am also encountering this issue. This does also occur for me with the steam application so perhaps this is more of a Windows 10 issue then Spotify itself as you stated.

Also getting the issue and spotify has yet to reply. Seems they really care about there subscribers.

I think this is a Windows 10 issue. I've created a Feedback on Microsoft's Feedback Hub. Please go to my link and it will take you to the app. Make sure you are logged into a Microsoft account and please upvote my feedback. Need to get this to Microsoft's attention. https://aka.ms/Vzflzc

Same issue here. Never knew about switching it between windows. I also use a 2 monitor setup. I've just been closing and re-opening the application.

I'd actually upvote this, but it says my account doesn't have access to that feedback, might wanna fix your link.

I'm also having this problem. It happens when I'm playing a fullscreen game (such as World of Warcraft). It only happens sometimes, but it's super annoying when it happens, because I have to restart Spotify. It also happens with Adobe Audition. I also have dual monitors. I hope this gets solved soon.

Thank you guys who are also giving feedback on this issue, I didn't even know what was causing it, but now I do.

No, that's not true. It's not easy getting things debugged.

If you are using the microsoft store version maybe but I'm using the regular spotify from spotifys website. So it wouldn't help reporting it to microsoft unless you use the store version.

Actually it would, seeing as this is not the only application with the problem. It remains unclear, for me, if the problem lies with Spotify or with Windows but the indication seems to be that it is related to redstone 3 or newer builds which would give some creedence to the notion that it may be something Microsoft needs to fix.

I have the same thing happening to me. If I play a full screen game like overwatch I will click through spotify to the application behind it. I get this almost every time I play. To be able to use spotify again I have to rapidly click the taskbar icon until it maximizes the program.

I get this issue when i exit a game where i cant listen to music (ie; csgo, rb6, battalion1944, pubg) and want to continue listening to music. Spotify is open on my 2nd monitor but clickthrough. I need to close it completely and reopen to be able to do anything, minimizing and reopening doesnt work.

I got win10, i installed spotify from an installfile, not playstore or whatever.

I sometimes have this issue but it doesn't annoy me.

Just discovered that opening the hidden icons tray and right clicking the spottify icon and clicking the option "minimize to tray", then right clicking the spotify tray icon and clicking "show spotify" fixes this
