Groundhog Day Glitch

Recently, I've been experiencing a peculiar glitch on Spotify. Despite me repeatedly changing the playlist, it always resets to the same playlist, song and settings each time I close and reopen the app (Ten Minutes by The Get-Up Kids on Punk Essentials, with the repeat and shuffle on). This gets annoying to fix daily, so I'd like to know how to fix this.
