Hello
For some reason I cannot login to Spotify from my desktop.. The internet works fine, but when I go to the login page and enter my username and password the entire screen fades and everything just freezes??
Please Help!! It has been frozen for the last 3 hours, and everytime I reload the app on my desktop it just does the same thing..
I have the same issues, my company laptop just did a new fresh migration to windows 10 from windows 7 today. All internet applications work fine. Even Spotify web player works fine. But as wel as the normal .exe installer as the windows 10 store installer gave me the exact same issue as OP.
This is the exact smae issue that I am getting on my work laptop.. Please let me know if you figure out a way to fix it!

Please let me know if you find a solution to this, i have the same problem very frustrating!
It has been nearly 2 months....
Same issue here. Just happened yesterday, uninstalled then reinstalled and nothing.
Same problem here, would really like to know when there is a fix. Hate using the web interface.
I'm having the same issue...
I'm having this same issue.
Has there been any solution?
I am experiencing the same type of behavior on my windows 7 X64 machine. After the weekend I opened up the app and had the no internet connection issue. After trying to remove the local user file from /Appdata/Roaming/Spotify and Appdata/local/spotify and reauthenticating I could not login at all. I reinstalled the app and was presented with the same issue. I have tried reinstalling multiple times. I have uninstalled and deleted all relevent folders and shortcuts restarted and reinstalled with the same outcome. Is there any other solutions?
Same here. Windows 7. No error messages or feedback. Just a red circle with a line through it when the mouse hovers over the login fields. This issue was also raised about a month before this thread in Dec 2017 but that thread was closed: https://community.spotify.com/t5/ratings/ratingdetailpage/message-uid/3801167/rating-system/forum_to...
Please help, Spotify.
I have also noticed that there are four spotify processes running at the same time when I launch the player. Not sure if this is typical behaviour but a response from the spotify team to help troubleshooting would be great. What I have not tried is creating a new profile and logging onto that.
So what I've seen is this:
I had the same issue with my work laptop. What worked was disconnecting it from the protected wi-fi and connecting it to another (e.g. personal hotspot) and now it's working.
it has been recently happening to me too. It started off by staying offline for days without end, and the offline button wasn't on and I did have internet, so I uninstalled and reinstalled but I came to where y'all have been.
I have the same problem as everyone else here. Windows 7 machine. Everything was working fine until about three weeks ago.
When I logged into Spotify on the PC it says I am offline (I'm not). I followed instructions on here to reinstall Spotify. Spotify wouldn't actually uninstall, the uninstaller kept crashing. I did manage to redownload Spotify and reinstall it.
Then the problem changed, now I cannot log in. I put in my correct log in credentials and the log in screen just hangs. It doesn't progress at all. I can use Spotify on my Android phone just fine but the desktop version has been broken for weeks. 😞
Fixed it by updating the proxy settings in Spotify. It doesn't seem to automatically detect it.
how do you update proxy settings and what do you use
Spotify? This is still an issue!
Hi, had issues that started with Spotify being off-line. Uninstalled and reinstalled and then couldn't log on. Log-in window just froze. Spotify was great and kept me sane. I suspect it has something to do with the security settings for my work internet. I will keep visiting to see if I can ever get it to log me in.
