I can't play song except from recent search

Hm, that's odd! Do you mind reinstalling the Spotify desktop app, making sure to remove the following folder in the process:
If that doesn't work, could you let us know if this is also happening when you log into your account on another device?
If not, could you confirm the exact Spotify version you're running on your desktop?
Once we have that, we'll know what to suggest next.
