I cannot hear my music through my headphones

I cannot hear my music through my headphones

The volume is up, the song says its playing, and other things will go through the headphones but I cannot hear the song or any other thing on Spotify. I cannot find any issue other than Spotify itself.

Hi there,

 

Welcome to the Community and thanks for reaching out!

 

Check Windows' Volume mixer and make sure Spotify's not muted. Ensure also that the correct audio output device is selected for the app. You can do that by following these steps:

  1. Open Spotify and press Play on something.
  2. In Windows' search bar type "Sound settings" and open them.
  3. Click on Advanced sound options, found at the bottom of the new window that pops up.
  4. You should now see Spotify in the list of apps that are currently playing audio. Simply set the Output either to Default or to the correct audio output device, then restart the app.

If you're using the Web Player instead of the app, check if the site has been muted by right-clicking on the current tab > Unmute site.
