Internal Updater causes bugs

Issue

The updater that asks the user to restart the app to apply the new version causes bugs. I noticed after reinstalling Spotify, which cleared all the issues I had with the app, the updater asked me to restart to apply the new version (1-2 hours later), after which all the usual problems came back.

The problems I had include that the player plays an entire playlist instead of the filtered version and clicking on the currently playing song highlights a random song on the source list.
